Benjamin and Ryann’s Washington National Cathedral Engagement Session

Engagement Sessions, Couples

It is often said that love knows no bounds. For Ben and Ryann, this cannot be more than true. The thought of planning the wedding of their dreams, including all of their family and friends, was quite challenging. Also, with the uncertainty of last year, Ben and Ryann decided to deviate from their plans and elope. Just the two of them together.

They had one more surprise to bring some spice to their marriage in their newly wedded bliss. They packed their bags and moved across the country from the west coast to the DMV area! Ben reached out and told me two things not too long after: 1) He wanted to get great photos to celebrate Ryann's upcoming birthday, and 2) It was time to break the news to the world, so they needed photos to announce their marriage. I knew the perfect place to do it all: The Washington National Cathedral!

It was a chilly and windy fall Saturday afternoon in DC. We started to take our first steps onto the gardens and immediately stopped in awe to admire the gothic-style architecture of the National Cathedral! While on the grounds, we decided to venture off into the Bishop's Garden to take some photos. The mixture of stone, archways and intricately manicured greenery provided the perfect backdrop for their magical session. I was right! The garden was the perfect place to capture their love.

As I reflect on the images, I can still feel the love between Ben and Ryann permeate through each frame. Ben and Ryann are such a sweet couple, and working with them was an absolute blast. Their couples session was everything I could have hoped for and more with every bit of love and romance...as well as a few laughs. I had such a great time getting to know this sweet couple. It was a great reminder that despite the challenges they experienced, love always wins.
